Did Sexual Self-Care Month Help You Set a New Ritual?
We are coming into the home stretch for closing out May, our sexual self-care month. The 31-day challenge presented bite-size pieces for you to reclaim your sexual self in time. This is my fourth post on the topic, and I hope it provides MITE. Motivation. Information. Transformation. And Education. We can step into our fullest sexual selves with that mindset.
We started the challenge with, Can you handle a month focused on your sexual self-pleasure?
Next, we asked how are you celebrating your sensual self this month?
Getting into the middle of the month, we asked, is empowering self-pleasure a delight or a dilemma?
Now, toward the end, ask yourself, have you made friends with yourself through your sexual-self care and created a way to incorporate pleasure routinely in your life?
If not, read on. If yes, do you want more?
And remember, a challenge is never over. Every morning you get up, you can begin again with your daily challenge.
Now until the End of the 31-Day Sexual Self-Care Challenge Month
Last week we finished our work with the Sex Positive Tarot, and this week finished our daily work with The Body Deck cards. The Purple Sex Reflection Deck for Women will close us out. Specifically, the sexuality topic of pleasure.
I consider pleasure as a source of delight or joy for yourself. Regarding your sexual pleasure, the clitoral body is its physical home. All aspects of you must work together for you to feel pleasure. The brain interprets sexual sensations from the body and communicates to back to your body. Your thoughts and feelings can also activate pleasure.
Sexual pleasure may be difficult for women to activate. We have so many messages that cause us to question it.
This is for other folks, not for me.
I don’t know where to start.
Am I worth pleasure?
Do I deserve pleasure?
If activating pleasure has been difficult, you are in the right place. The card deck and upcoming Purple Sex Journal I created help you align yourself physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually to your sexual interests. Like the monthly challenge, they, too, are a tool to help you organize and structure your life, holding space for you to explore, learn, grow, and honor your sexual self.
At the end of the challenge, you will sit with The Wild Woman. The Wild Woman card is YOU. Look in the mirror. Your wild woman energy lives deep within you and resonates in your core. This card supports your expression of your soul and authentic sexual self. When this card arrives, look inward for your ultimate sexual strength and step into your feminine energy.
*****As I write, Instagram flagged May 8, 12, and 13 card posts. Desire. Masturbation. Orgasm. You may follow the entire challenge in full in my Twitter Thread.
Networking for the Ultimate Sexual Self Care
Being alone in a process is never fun. But you don’t have to be. I have two places for you to check out.
SLUT Sisterhood
This past week in The Sexuality Space, I interviewed The Slut Sisters. Our conversation was about taking back what is ours, including words used against us, and making them work for us. Scarlet and Áine removed the negative word SLUT and turned it into Sexually Liberated Unshamed Transformed Sisters. Our conversation centered on pleasure and getting to know ourselves and how our work is helping to fortify and help women grow in and heal their sexual selves.
Purple Passion Works
I created a community on Circle called Passion Works. It has two groups housed there for community and learning.
One is for authors. Passion works for writers, which allows them to learn about these sexual empowerment concepts to give them to their characters.
The other, Purple Passion Works, is for women who want to continue the sexual-self pleasure work with other women. I am creating an introductory course about the cards.
Take Aways
1. May is designated as Sexual Self-Care Month and celebrated with a 31-day challenge to promote and reclaim sexual self-identity through bite-sized activities.
2. The challenge focused on motivating, informing, transforming, and educating individuals about their sexual selves.
3. Participants were encouraged to explore and question their relationship with sexual self-pleasure and to incorporate it regularly into their lives.
4. Three card sets were used in the challenge. The Body Deck, Sex-Positive Tarot, and the Purple Sex Reflection Deck for Women supported participants in their sexual self-care journey, focusing on pleasure.
5. The ultimate goal of the challenge and these initiatives is to create a safe space for women to explore, learn, grow, and honor their sexual selves.
If you want to join a group of like-minded women who would like to make pleasure an equally incorporated part of their life, get on the waitlist for information on the next Purple Sex Course in Dr. J.’s Passion Works Community.
