Ten Things That Excited Me about My Sexuality Work in 2022
Before I tell you the ten things that excited me about my year in the sexual work world, I want to say thank you. Thank you to my readers, fans, supporters, those who inspire, and all folks interested in sexual wellness, erotica, and all things sex. I create content for you to better your life in the adventures you seek. These are the items listed in no particular order that excited me about 2022.
Rosy
Working with the most sex-positive company, Rosy is a Sexual Wellness Platform for women, and this year I edited thirty-two stories as their erotica editor. I love helping authors craft all the tension and setups for the sexual journey so women can experience arousal, desire, lubrication, and orgasm.
Podcasts
In my second year of The Sexuality Space, I hosted 48 episodes covering movies, books, sex-positive content, and meeting wonderful folks in the sexuality world.
I was honored to receive a silver medal from The Global Interview Social Audio Awards in Health & Wellness for my work in this space.
It’s fun to be a guest on other podcasts, too. This year I guested ten times, and Judith Briles of Author You Podcast honored me when she asked me to talk about How to Write Erotica and Scenes with Sex. This was the first time in her 568 podcast episodes sexuality was addressed. It was a download hit!
Publications & Featured Articles
In February 2022, Maintenance Needed, my short story in the Big Book of Orgasms, was released. Story Synopsis: What happens when your car breaks down at the mountain park maintenance area? And your helper turns out to be a one-with-nature kind of sex God? Then he invites you to his private lunch haven by the waterfall as you wait for a tow. What are the lunch plans?
My work was highlighted in Residence 11, Shoutout Miami, and Huffington Post.
Teaching
At Alessandra Torre’s Inkers Con in July, I hosted two Featured Roundtables. One was on How to Write Scenes with Sex, and the other was how authors could use Twitter Spaces.
In September, I was a Reimagine Sexuality Conference Speaker discussing my evolution as a sexuality professional.
In December, I presented to a Bestselling Romance Author Group. They submitted questions ahead of time prompted with: “if you had a trained sex expert sitting in front of you, what would you want to know from this person about writing sex?”
People Who Supported Me
Foremost, Mischa Eliot, my best friend, my confidante, my rock and north star for work. I couldn’t ask for a better work wife!
Rachel Thompson of Bad Redhead Media keeps me on my book marketing toes and is a spectacular collaborator.
Ally Daine is a fantasy writer who inspires me with her learning and pushes me for more.
Ramone Quides, is an erotica writer who is a sponge and wants to learn everything. I push for him.
Nora Dyer, my person at Rosy, whose kindness and collaboration are a godsend.
The dynamic duo of Kimberly Kay Scott and Joselin Mane guided and supported me in the structure of my new endeavors. They are rock stars.
Rachel Kramer Bussel has believed in me since day one and provided support in ways I could never have imagined.
We all have our core teams. These folks impacted me in the best way possible for 2022.
A Special Tribute
An era ends as Marie Rebel closes Wicked Wednesday. Marie was the person who gave my very first short story a home. “Tested” was added to her guest blog on December 31, 2015. I wanted to end the year knowing I was going into 2016 as an author. In January 2016, I created my website, and here we are today.
Her writing meme was a mainstay of my creative work, and I will forever be grateful. Her space allowed so many people to hone their craft. I’ll read this story on my new podcast in January to commemorate this milestone.
Blog Posts
I’m always tickled to see what you like reading on my blog. Here are the Top Two nonfiction posts on the blog.
And for your arousal, here are the Top Two fiction posts.
Scenes with Sex
I returned to classroom teacher mode and created a Ten Week course which helped me complete the book, Scenes with Sex: A Writer’s Sexuality Guide. This helped me prepare it for editing. And now edited, I’m creating the worksheets and preparing them for printing.
Purple Sex
Sometimes an idea comes out of nowhere and tells you to sit down and get busy. This happened with a new tool I created in the mountains of NC. Purple Sex Reflection Deck for Women. The information came at me hard and fast, and I captured it all. I have never had an idea of a product happen this fast. I couldn’t be more tickled with this work. It was all about the heart.
Looking to 2023
I signed a Contract in August 2022 for the Anthology Sexy Strangers, where you will meet Charlotte the Pirate Queen in the Summer of 2023.
Rachel Kramer Bussel interviewed me for her upcoming book, How to Write Erotica which will release in February 2023.
I’ve created a new podcast for 2023 on The Mon App: Purple Sex & Erotic Whims. It will be live on Thursday at 4 pm ET, and the debut episode is January 5, 2023. Each week is a different topic for four different areas. On the first Thursday of the month, the topic is Erotic Reading. Erotic Writing is the Second Thursday of the month. The Third Thursday of the month is Purple Sex. And the Fourth Thursday of the month is a sexual wellness topic.
Passion Works on the Circle Community Platform will open in January 2023. This will be the home of my teaching Purple Sex and Scenes with Sex Courses.
Thank you All.
I think 2023 will be a fascinating year. I look forward to the creativity, productivity, and collaboration it brings as I bring you all more sexy content. Please sign up for my newsletter to stay in the know.
