The Shortest of Fiction Stories In Twelve Words
There will be a break this week from the Hiking Story Series. I’m preparing for a vacation and well, you all know it’s hard to get every task completed. I’m headed to cooler weather to some locations where creative people worked and I’m looking forward to sitting in their places and brainstorming new writing ideas. An environment has an impact on me and I’m curious to see where this new energy takes me. Until then, I wanted to share a new project with you all.
For the month of June, I began to participate in a new daily writing meme called Storyin12. After finding that erotica wasn’t accepted in mainstream memes, a new one was born. Birthed by Wriggly Kitty and Molly Moore these two set out to have a creative writing place where any genre would be welcome. Their new effort may be the most interesting. I haven’t written every day, but I have enjoyed the participation. It allows me to think in a different way.
Using 12 words to create a story is an amazing adventure. Sometimes I see a picture and get the story idea. Other times the picture of the story forms in my head. Capturing the idea is fun.
Here are the five I wrote for the month of June. The 12-word stories below used the word prompt, break-in, chip, smash, admission, and inn.
I’m amazed at the different directions each word took me. But read for yourself. Can you imagine what came before or after? Do you know the characters, their wants, and desires? Twelve words are short but they can pack a punch. What do you think?
Next month, I’m adding two other writing memes, Seduce Me Sunday, and Salacioussun. Each meme provides a specific prompt word.
As you know, most of the time I write flash fiction for Masturbation Monday or Wicked Wednesday while I work on my novella and novel. Please check out what erotic stories are presented this week.
See you next week. ~Dr.J.~
